Sometimes you plan and you accomplish. Sometimes you plan and life throws you a curveball. A curveball like being woken up at 5am to the teenager asking if we might be concerned that there was about an inch of water in the basement. We jumped out of bed like, well like our basement was flooding. Hubby immediately got to work getting the water out. By the time I got all boys off to school I began cleaning up while he continued dry vaccing and getting rid of anything that would retain moisture that could cause mold. This was not what I had in mind for my day. I was thinking a run and a pedicure, some writing, etc… But when life throws ya lemons it’s time to count your blessings. We are thankful the teenager wakes up at 5am. We are thankful there wasn’t more water. We are thankful not much was ruined. We are thankful for an afternoon nap before the boys got home. This could have been much worse, tonight we are thanking God that it is not. I hope you all fared well through the storm and that you all are healthy and safe. And just for a smile- I’ve included a photo of my cute pup who had the best walk once she found a good stick and held it for the entire walk-avoiding puddles as always-which was no easy task today!
