Somedays gratitude is hard. Somedays we get lost in our heads. Gratitude is a choice. We can choose to get out of our heads and choose to give thanks and praise, or we can choose to stay stuck in the yuck.
Today I am grateful for the boldness of Jelly Roll proclaiming his faith in Jesus Christ at the Grammy awards. This man told the world, “Jesus is for everybody.” You don’t have to have it all together to go to Jesus. He loves you right where you’re at and wants you to come to him exactly as you are. Thank you Jelly Roll. Thank you Jesus.
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:10-13
