For me, today was what summer days are made of. Slow mornings, time in God’s word, an early morning doggy walk before the beach got crowded, an unplanned chat with my very dear friend, taking my time and getting all the things done, working for a few hours, hanging on the beach with friends while the teenagers acted like kids, burgers fresh off the grill for dinner, a beach walk with prayerful friends, and some gym time to end the day with one of my boys. Sometimes I put too much pressure on myself and my family to do all of the things on all of the days all summer long. That’s not what summer break is about. I forget that though, living in this beautiful beach side town. I guess sometimes I suffer from a bit of FOMO. But God is working on that in me, along with many other things. So, as I lay my head down on my pillow tonight, I thank God for a beautiful day, a thoughtful day, a prayer filled day, an active day, an intentional summer day.
