As I had my quiet time with the Lord this morning, I prayed for my friends. God brought friends to mind who I don’t see or talk to often, but were in my life for a season, so I prayed for them. I’m so thankful for friendship. I’m thankful for the friends who are in my life now and the ones who were in my life in the past. One thing I’ve learned about friendship in this past year is that it is reciprocal. I like to give and give and give. I like to listen and help. I like to be there and I like to be needed. I don’t like to need. I don’t think anybody does. Not only do I not like to need, I tend to retreat into myself. This year has taught me that part of being a good friend is letting others help you. Part of being a good friend is not just helping others but having the ability to ask for help and receive help. This is really hard for me, but just as I feel honored when a friend entrusts me with a prayer request or a favor, I need to remember that allowing others to help me, gives them that same feeling. In friendship we can be a blessing and also be blessed. I hope you are blessed with wonderful friends on this Friday. Below I have included a verse, a haiku, and a link to my piece about friendship on herviewfromhome.com. Have a great day!
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
Friendship
Friendship is a gift
That can change with the seasons
Each one a blessing

Friendship is indeed reciprocal and it’s sad when an old one dies bc the other person makes no effort to stay in touch. Eventually, you just walk away. Not that the door is shut forever… but you know it’s unlikely they’ll ever come back and knock. And the older we get, the fewer of these relationships we have left 🫤

So true, and those lasting friendships seem to be the quality ones as we get older.
