The prompt for day 25 of the Poem A Day challenge was to write a memory poem. With thoughts of our 19th wedding anniversary in my mind, I recalled that day, which happens to be today, 19 years ago. This one is for my hubby, the one I love with all my heart and soul, my biggest supporter and my biggest fan.

19 Years

When the church doors opened

I don’t remember seeing anyone

but you, as I walked down the aisle.

Our eyes locked and I could see

my future in you.

My best friend, my soul mate,

standing before me in that black tuxedo,

waiting for me to take your hand

and hold it

forever.
