It’s not often that I actually talk about being a fire wife anymore. This blog has just morphed into my every day life and oh by the way, I’m a fire wife. Because all these years into this fire life, things that used to seem so big are now just usual.

A couple of weeks ago, we got to celebrate something really special in our fire family. Our fire fighter, after months of studying, a lot of sacrifices, tons of hard work and dedication, after a long, hard start to the year with an injury and a surgery (which just allowed for more time to study), and lots and lots of prayers and note cards, my boys and I along with our extended family and friends got to witness my hubby getting promoted to lieutenant.

Words can’t express how incredibly proud I am of my husband. Not many people can say they are working their dream job, but he is. And to watch him get sworn in and to be able to be the one who put his pin on with our boys by my side witnessing that hard work pays off is such an incredible thing.

I’m thankful to our Lord and savior for providing this opportunity for him. I’m thankful that God is in all of the details of our lives and that he is a loving Father. I’m thankful that God’s timing is perfect and that He loves and cares for us. We are blessed.
