Happy Thursday all! The sun is shining and it’s actually warmed up enough that I could sit outside and write. Anyone outside of New England should not ask what the temperature is though. It’s nice for us here, but southerners would still be in their winter gear, for sure! Spring is definitely in the air though, I hope wherever you are, you can feel it too.

Here are my poems for today. I am still following the writing prompts by Robert Lee Brewer on Writer’s Digest PAD challenge 2025. I really enjoyed writing these because it allowed me to tap into a different part of my brain. I tend to write from true experiences and feelings but these prompts stirred some creative writing and I am really digging that and hope to pursue it more when this challenge is over. I hope you like my poem-ing by hitting like or maybe leaving a comment!

Day 15-A Poetic Form (I used an acrosstic)

Letting Go

Letting go is no

Easy

Task

To let go

I give up control

Not that I had control in the first place

God always had that

Go, I’ll let you, spread those wings

Onward and upward, soar, fly

Day 16- A Fantastic Poem

A Fantastic Adventure

To be among the stars

to ride on fluffy, white clouds,

twirling around, her gown flows

as she spins through the atmosphere.

She catches a ride on a shooting star,

makes a wish to see where you are…

She’ll skip along the milky way,

race around Saturn’s rings,

visit Mars and Jupiter,

gazing down at planet Earth,

sighing in awe and wonder.

And when she’s ready, she’ll walk on the moon,

taking a nap in a crater,

after a fantastic adventure

in this vast universe.

Day 17-A City Poem

NYC

City lights

shine bright,

no wonder it’s the city

that never sleeps.

Billboards flashing, horns honking,

car stereos blaring,

crowds everywhere you go.

If you can’t move at the pace

everyone is walking,

you’re going too slow.

You’ll hold up walking traffic,

or more likely get run over, pushed aside.

It’s The Big Apple,

but I’m not sure why…

The only apple I see is in the tourist shop.

People call this place home.

It’s so rich in history,

Even I have a history there,

But the city life is not the one I crave…

Unless I’m hungry at 3am,

then the city that never sleeps is

where I’d want to be.
