On February 2nd, I participated in the BFit challenge 2025. This event invites first responders, military, and community members to walk, run, or step to benefit First Responder and Military Charities. This event also helps to raise awareness around health and wellness.
I was very much looking forward to running this course with my hubby, although we wouldn’t be racing in the same heat, but alas, 2025 has not been cooperative with our plans thus far. The week before the race had us sitting in the emergency room as my hubby fell on ice at work and sprained his ankle. Three days before the race, I came down with the flu. I rested as much as I could, which was probably not enough, and when race day came around I mustered all the strength and energy I could, took a Motrin, and gave it my all.
Our team fundraised for preventative cancer screenings for our fire fighters. I was honored and humbled to be able to participate in this event and look forward to pushing myself to the extra challenge next year, without the flu. Thank you to everyone who donated and/or prayed for me. Although we are off to a rocky start in 2025, I know that God is good, all of the time.
