Happy Halloween to my faithful readers out there in the blog world and wherever else you may be reading from. I’ve never been much of a Halloween person. Probably starting back in my days of being a teenager and sleeping in an apartment by myself while my dad worked nights, every little noise used to spook me. Before that, I grew up watching all kinds of wildly inappropriate scary movies; Friday the 13th, Tales From the Crypt, Carrie, The Birds… As I got older there were all of the 90’s scary movies; Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Blair Witch Project, Sixth Sense, etc. At some point I became keenly aware of my surroundings and that I was all alone in the house and suddenly stopped watching Scream, a movie my friends and I watched over and over again. To this day, I still haven’t rewatched any of these and I’m still scared of Birds…

Fast forward to years later when I had two little pumpkins. No, I actually had two little pumpkins. They were the cutest. I’ve had a baby spider, Transformers, a baby cow, a baby cowboy, more ninja’s than I can remember… These cuties have since transformed into teenagers. Teenagers who now go to Halloween parties or trick or treating with friends instead of putting their little hand in mine while we go from house to house collecting candy. It’s all so bitter sweet. Get a mama some chocolate to go with her tears please.

Maybe you are in the same season that I am in. I feel it with you mama. Or maybe you have still got a little hand holding yours. To you I say, take pictures and hold onto those moments. It all went by so fast. My teenagers were all so busy this year that we never made it to the pumpkin patch, which kind of breaks my heart because my oldest will graduate in just a few months. I guess he will have to come home for a weekend so we can get pumpkins next year.

Ok, that is enough emotions for one afternoon. May your Halloween be filled with laughter, little hands to hold, cuteness galore, and more treats than tricks. God Bless you friends.
