Happy Saturday my friends. It is cold, but the sun is shining and spring is coming. I don’t know about you, but it’s been a long week in my corner of the world. I’m not going to get into details here. Not today anyway. Maybe you have had a long week too. Maybe it was overwhelming or exhausting. Maybe it kind of wrecked you. Maybe it was just so crazy that you just put one foot in front of the other and just did what you needed to do because that’s all you could do. No matter what your week was like, I’m here to tell you this morning that it’s ok.

It’s ok.

It’s ok to be ok.

It’s ok to not be ok.

It’s ok to feel overwhelmed and exhausted.

It’s ok to be wrecked.

It’s ok to put one foot in front of the other.

It’s ok to keep going.

It’s ok to stop.

It’s ok to rest.

It’s ok to nap.

It’s ok to say yes.

It’s ok to say no.

It’s ok take a break.

It’s ok to accept help.

It’s ok to laugh.

It’s ok to cry.

It’s ok to turn your phone off.

It’s ok to go for a walk.

It’s ok to take a long hot shower or bath.

It’s ok to pick up a book and get lost in it for a bit.

It’s ok to go for a walk.

It’s ok to finish that project.

It’s ok to phone a friend.

It’s ok to sit alone for a little while.

It’s ok to not answer that text or email as soon as it comes across your phone.

It’s ok to do something for youself.

It’s ok to slow down.

It’s ok to not move at the same pace as the rest of the world.

It’s ok to be busy.

It’s ok to be still.

Whatever season you are in today, it may not feel ok now, but it won’t be this way forever. Seasons come and go. Life is always changing but God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I took great comfort this week, knowing that no matter the circumstances and what was going on around me, that He was in control of it all. There wasn’t anything I could do to fix it or change it. I could only trust that the creator of the universe knew my every thought, my every need, and my every prayer, and that He was providing for all of it, even if it wasn’t how I asked or imagined. But-His way is better. His way was so much better this week. It was truly humbling to see how much better His way was than mine. It was beautiful and humbling to see how He cares for us, in every detail. God is good, all of the time. When we aren’t ok, He takes care of us. When we are ok, He takes care of us.

I love this song by Jelly Roll, “I Am Not Okay.” Take a listen if you haven’t heard it before. And if you have heard it, listen again. Let me know what you think. I would love to hear what songs come to mind in your season of life right now, good or bad, please leave me a comment!
