Happy New Year to my family, friends, faithful readers, and anyone who may be checking out my blog for the first time. There is something about a new year that makes me giddy. I love the thought of a new start, fresh beginnings, out with the old in with the new, resolutions, and all that jazz. Within the last few years though, I decided to give up making resolutions and I put a new spin on it instead. Last year I made a more and less list. I also made lists of activity/movement goals and a list of new habits that I wanted to start. I really like making lists, can you tell.
Similar to resolution making though, shortly after I made these lists I forgot all about them. This year I decided to dedicate a journal to lists seeing as when you are a writer you are pretty much guaranteed to receive some journals for Christmas. I hope that by keeping my lists all together in one place I will refer back to it often.
Even though I forgot to look back last year, I did accomplish some of the things I had written down. I ran the 5k I set out to run, I completed some craft projects, we had more family time, and I kept a reading log of all the books I read in 2024.
My next few blog posts will be about my list making for this year. I hope we can be inspired together to do great things in 2025. Maybe your 2025 is off to a rough start already, maybe the one goal you have for this year is to survive, well let me encourage you to do just that. You are enough. The Bible says in Philipians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I am so thankful that I have a Lord and savior that I can go to, who is with me all the time, who gives me strength, who loves me fiercely, and who fights my battles for me.
For now I will leave you with my book log from 2024. I would love to hear what books you read so maybe I can add them to my 2025 list.
