The Christmas season is here

My calendar says I am busy

But I don’t feel it

I feel joy for all I have

and joy for what is to come

I feel peace in the busy

and peace in the quiet

Not trying to fill the spaces

but to sit in them,

serene, tranquil, still

The world can hurry around me

but I will be still in the joy

of the season

under the glow of the twinkling lights

I have joy in the birth of my savior

in this season of advent, waiting for the

day that we celebrate his birth

when all is calm, all is bright

all season long
